OF THE CHIEF OF STAFF
The Senate Chief of Staff
oversees all operations of the Senate Service Staff by Senate
rule 3-3. Among the Chief of Staff's Duties are:
- Hiring, managing and developing
a professional staff to assist the Senate in its legislative
functions;
- Provision of services to
the Senate's members and committees including drafting,
fiscal and research services;
- Oversight of official communications
of the Senate;
- Dissemination of information
to the Senate and the public;
- Maintenance and improvements
to the legislative process, including records, engrossment
and enrollment of legislation, and such other services as
may be prescribed;
- Support Senate actions by
providing research and policy studies;
- Publish relevant and timely
Senate information, reports and organizational information
on the Senate web page;
- Develop and monitor the Senate’s
annual operating budget;
- Reconcile all financial transactions
and publish monthly financial reports;
- Review and approve purchasing,
payroll, travel, and all other requests for reimbursement.
