Senator Rick Brinkley is proud to represent the citizens of District 34 in the Oklahoma State Senate, serving portions of Owasso, Collinsville, Catoosa, Skiatook, Sperry, Turley and Tulsa.  Senator Brinkley currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. He grew up in Collinsville and now makes his home in Owasso.

 Rick was elected to the Oklahoma State Senate in 2010 and brings a broad range of business and consumer experience to the legislature.  From 1999 – 2011 he served as President/CEO of the Better Business Bureau serving Eastern Oklahoma and is currently the Organization’s Chief Operating Officer.  In 2008 he was honored as a recipient of the BBB’s National Meritorious Service Award in recognition of his “Call to Excellence”.  In addition, he served as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Council of Better Business Bureaus for six years as well as on its Executive and Strategic Planning committees.

 His professional background also includes serving as the Pastor of The Community Church in Collinsville for ten years.  In addition, Rick spent ten years as a television producer, investigative producer, writer, and on-air personality.  His work in television culminated with a National Emmy Nomination.

 Rick was the first person on either side of his family to attend college and is a graduate of both Langston University and the Oral Roberts University’s School of Theology and Missions and has completed some Doctoral work at Oklahoma State University’s College of Education.

 Rick is an active member of First Christian Church in Owasso and has served on the Associate Board of the Oasis Adult Day Care Facility and is the former president of the Kiwanis Club of Tulsa.  He is also a proud supportive “PeePaw” for his grandson’s soccer team, Blitz ’98 Red.

 However, Rick’s greatest achievements are his son, John, and his grandson, Cristian.
